You can't ask him to support you then get mad at the poor guy when he says "no" to you eating bad. That is a catch-22 situation. He is supporting you by marinating and cooking the chicken besticles and trying to keep you in check. You gotta hold yourself accountable. Appreciate you sharing the journey and keeping it real with us.

This really seems like a developing restrictive/binging dynamic with food. The foods you think are bad are okay to eat in moderation. Super restricting what you eat leads to bigger binges when you finally give in to cravings, which everyone does! Let yourself have the things you want in small amounts with a balanced diet. This avoids unhealthy relationships with food while developing food habits that are sustainable.

    • Don’t Panic
      Don’t Panic 6 개월 전 +2

@Y 15 you’re right. In instances of inflammation there usually is a highly restricted “reset period” after which you slowly add foods back to your diet. I wasn’t thinking about that.

    • Y 15
      Y 15 6 개월 전 +2

Normally I would agree with you but you have to remember that from the very beginning she was very clear that she is eating restrictively for a temporary time in order to heal inflammation in her body. When allowing your body to heal itself it’s important to cut out anything inflammatory for a prolonged period of time in order for healing to take place. She isn’t just doing this to lose weight. So although it may seem restrictive if you go to a naturopath dr and try to heal something they can go as strict as allowing only steamed cabbage for instance for several weeks to heal a leaky gut for example. It’s a different approach than just normal weight loss with the intent of taking the stress off of your body so it can allow itself to heal. It seems this is what Jacklyn is trying to achieve. She keeps mentioning trying to heal inflammation in her body. I commend her for being so honest about it despite many who may not understand the benefits of such a restrictive diet for healing purposes in the body. When you look at people who heal cancer naturally their diets are extremely strict. Again I’m not discounting people’s concerns. Normally I’d be very concerned, too. But she was specific in mentioning her reason for being so strict was for healing purposes in her body.

I feel like Jaclyn’s idea of a “sustainable lifestyle” she was talking about with Jordan not supporting her isn’t realistic. You can’t obtain sustainable weight loss or healthy habits by restricting yourself to the amount she is and then having ultimate feast style cheat meals on weekends or every 10 days or so. Eating foods you enjoy, while balancing your nutrition and eating sizable portions is sustainable. Actually, what Jordan suggested by splitting a meal of pasta is a great one. Split an appetizer and an entree. You will get the enjoyment you are looking for out of your food, but you won’t overeat and feel awful for hours or feel extremely guilty the next day. It’s all about healthy boundaries and a healthy mindset and a healthy relationship with food.

It's painful watching her miserable over food she 'can't have'. They briefly mention calorie deficit, but is she actually tracking her calories?? Because then you can fit foods you love into your diet. Her man has so much patience with her- he's 'not supportive'?? He literally is your private chef!! And is offering SUSTAINABLE options (splitting the pasta dish), it is NOT sustainable to 'live your best life' by eating an entire bowl of pasta, apps, drinks, etc. Its MODERATION, still having those things and enjoying it, just not overdoing it!! I just want to shake her and and tell her to connect with Jordan Syatt or someone similar on here. I don't ask my husband to keep me accountable because I know I'll get mad and defensive. At the end of the day it's 1000% my own responsibility. There's a difference between support and dependence. UGH.

Stop calling it cheating, and get out of the habit of every time someone visits or there's a special occasion, you need to "celebrate" by eating a shit ton of food. You can enjoy your life without eating an entire bowl of pasta and insisting on an appetizer merely because you're eating out. Jordan has watched you cry and spiral and be upset about gaining weight and making bad decisions and he's just trying to help you avoid feeling bad, while allowing you to enjoy the things you want.
You can't whine about wanting a bowl of pasta and how much you want it but can't have it, and when he offers a reasonable option to have your cake and eat it too, get mad that he isn't going to completely enable you. You're complaining because you want him to go "it's all good, girl, eat an entire bowl of pasta thats probably 1000 calories and then I'll try and help console you in a week when you haven't lost any damn weight. "

    1. Stop beating yourself up about your “cheat meals” think of it as a lifestyle change instead of a diet
    2. I am living for these vlogs and look forward to them now and LOVE the fact that you are honest and add in your real life relationship and talks with Jordan.
    3. Have they ever discussed having a D&C or anything to thin out your endometrium, we did it in our office and it helped girls with painful heavy periods!! Also that might be where the anxiety is coming from, if you were still on your period when that was happening.

Jordan saying “let’s split the lemon pasta..” is his way of being supportive. He wants you to enjoy but stay within your boundaries so you can achieve your goal. Restaurant portions are way over sized as it is. No one needs to eat the whole thing. Fit or not. Cut your portions down and don’t over restrict yourself. That way you don’t feel so tempted to cheat. You can do it 💪

    • K W
      K W 7 개월 전 +3

@Sha[Na]Leaaa idk, either way I think it’s great how she’s showing us what it can be like trying to make a lifestyle change. It’s not easy at all. There’s a lot of back and forth and giving into temptation. Most people would probably agree that birthdays, events and holidays are some of the biggest barriers to eating a perfectly clean diet because it’s easy to feel left out, which is valid. Food is important to a lot of people. That’s why acting and thinking in extremes isn’t always the most feasible or realistic.. so instead of eating an entire pizza, she’s taking two bites. That’s a realistic improvement. In the process, she’s also gaining the confidence in knowing that she can fight an urge and make noticeable improvements. Those small changes eventually lead to the grand lifestyle change that you expect from her.. just gotta give her the time and (safe) space to experiment, learn and figure out the things that work for her

    • Sha[Na]Leaaa
      Sha[Na]Leaaa 7 개월 전 +3

@K W it’s just the unending excuses for me. It’s tiring to watch someone make so many excuses. Like you either want to change and feel better, or you want to stay unhealthy and sick. Stop blaming your boyfriend, birthdays, events, friends visiting, etc. just do it or dont.

    • Sha[Na]Leaaa
      Sha[Na]Leaaa 7 개월 전 +3

@K W She’s lost like 6 pounds. I’m sure some of the inflammation has gone down which is important, but at least what she is showing us is that she’s cheating more than she’s making good choices. It’s her mindset. Yeah she’s lost some weight, but if she doesn’t really get to the root of why her thought process and relationship with food is so negative, she will gain it all back and more. I feel like she’s seeing this more as a crash diet and temporary thing than a lifestyle change. Like her original goal was 60 days.. like what is 60 days going to do? She needs to change her entire lifestyle and mindset completely.

    • K W
      K W 7 개월 전 +4

@Sha[Na]Leaaa She’s actually been losing weight according to the video, so I’d argue that she’s not on a slippery slope and not on the way to 600 lbs. Her current choices have been an improvement to her past ones. She’s progressing. Is it important to develop a healthy relationship with food, as you suggest? For sure. Will shaming someone on their KRclip channel (after they’re allowing you in on their personal lifestyle) positively benefit them? Probably not

    • Sha[Na]Leaaa
      Sha[Na]Leaaa 7 개월 전 +4

@K W maybe so, but it’s also true. It’s like all of her happiness depends on the food that she eats and she can’t think rationally. It’s a slippery slope. The fact that she gained that much weight, so quickly is dangerous. If she continues on this path and doesn’t stop with the excuses and take this journey seriously and make an actual lifestyle change, she could be in serious trouble. It’s already negatively affecting her health so much. My 600lb Life might be extreme to say, but if she continues to blow up at this rate and she doesn’t adjust her way of thinking, she’s going to keep getting bigger and bigger. It’s just facts.

Honestly Jaclyn I’ve been a “quiet” fan of yours for years ! But I love these vlog type videos so much I have to comment! it makes me feel like I’m not alone on my own journey because I’m going through the same ups and downs too! Jaclyn, I also struggle with late night snacking when we watch shows! What has helped me the most is making a cup of hot tea and sipping on it. Harney & Sons is a godsend, especially the Hot Cinnamon Spice. I used to buy snack size popcorn bags, or pop a personal portion, and sprinkle a little cheese powder on the top. I just have to be careful not to overdo it with that option. Edemame with sea salt is also a great snacking option!
Also, Jordan I would totally be down to see healthier recipes on your channel! I love the cheesy ones but really need healthy meals more. Jaclyn could also be a taste tester for those meals! 😉

Just a note on Jordan’s “split it” suggestion for the pasta. I know you want to enjoy life and treat yourself but splitting things is actually a really great compromise on that. You still get what you want bu the portions are controlled. My partner suggested this for me and it was honestly a game changer at first I felt like it was a sacrifice but then when I tried his idea I felt like it was a great way to have the best of both worlds. I got what I wanted to eat but I didn’t OVERindulge… just my opinion. It just takes a little switch in the mindset about having that treat.

Yes and restaurants serve SO MUCH a lot of the time.
Also my comment was meant as support and mindset advice for Jaclyn. Whatever her relationship is to food is entirely her business and place to manage. No judgement to her and how she navigates that. As someone who has had a difficult relationship with food throughout my life I understand how personal and triggering journeys like this can be, and how my own mind would interpret the support of others during times like this. I have just learned to give suggestions a go and if they don’t work for me then to accept that and move on.
So to Jaclyn, you’re doing great, it’s a huge learning curve undertaking such a change to you’re lifestyle so some grace towards yourself is deserved here. You’ve got this. x

I used to tell my husband the same thing! “Tell me not to eat that”, then get mad when he did. It really never worked for us… I’ve now lost 100 lbs and I’ve learned I can only hold myself accountable, that’s the only way it worked.

I’m really pulling for Jaclyn because I know the struggle of trying to lose weight all too well, but this series is called Jaclyn’s Journey for a reason! It’s on her to do the work.

When it comes to the Lemon pasta situation, I understand the mindset of wanting to go all out, but I think splitting it might have been a good option because it will curb your craving and then it won’t poorly affect your body as much as eating the whole thing with an appetizer and going all out. Part of the balance of dieting isn’t “going all out” and then being so strict on yourself that you’re miserable. It’s about eating what you want when you crave it, but in smaller portions. That can be the compromise you’re looking for. So maybe just switching your mindset to “oh I can have a few chips and it will be ok, I just don’t want to eat the whole bag because then it will have negative effects on my body” if that makes sense. I hope this is helpful advice!

This is exactly what my RD told me-I struggled for years and it was bc I was severely restricting myself until I couldn’t anymore and then I would eat all the things I was cravings. No if I want a cookie I bake 2-3 of my mini cookies and go about my day ☺️

LOVE! These videos. You’re killing it, & I love the open communication you & Jordan have with each other. Mindset is everything & working out is a blessing. Remember to tell yourself “I get to work out every morning. I’m blessed to be able to move everyday.” Tell yourself that every time you don’t want to work out. Keep going forward 💕 p.s waist trainers can cause more harm than good! There’s a band called Sweet Sweat which helps you sweat even more & doesn’t feel so tight. Keep it up babes!
